Nokia N93: Taking your Digital Camera Head on

There has been a lot of discussions about how mobile phones are competing with digital cameras. Though the arguments are convincing in favor of mobile phone that would subsequently uproot digital cameras as consumer’s first choice for imaging needs, this sounds like a scene of a distant future. With the launch of Nokia N93, the future suddenly is within our grasp. Being a top end member of the highly acclaimed N series, the Nokia N93 is essentially a 3G enabled, multimedia communication device. The handset is a bit on the heavier side at 180 gm and resembles a miniature digital camcorder.

The twist and rotating QVGA screen of the Nokia N93 displays more than 262k vibrant colours. The screen can work in imaging mode, viewing mode, fold open mode and fold closed mode. The sleek black casing with chrome edging give an impression of reliability and sophistication. The Nokia N93 is endowed with a massive 3.2 mega pixel camera sporting lens made by Carl Zeiss. High definition images do not compromise on its resolution when you zoom in unlike other camera phones. The Nokia N93 is endowed with 3x optical zoom than the more common digital zoom.

Though 3.2 mega pixel camera module with auto focus and integrated flash is available with other models in the market, what sets the Nokia N93 apart is its DVD like video recording quality. The Nokia N93 is capable of taking part in video calls across UMTS network other than voice calls across triband GSM networks. 50 Mb of internal memory and the 128 Mb memory card included in the kit leaves you with enough space for all types of content you want to download to the Nokia N93. Other connectivity options incorporated in the Nokia N93 are GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, Blue tooth, Infrared and USB – in a nutshell, more than you’ll ever need.
