There is no point in going to a photographer that will charge a small fortune for tiny prints of your portraits. However, it works the other way as well; you do not want to pay an amateur a small amount of money to take photos that you could have done better. You need to have a fine balance in between the two ideas, where the photographer will do the job that is required without charging a lot of money for the work.
